He was a well known pastor, teacher, writer, and international conference speaker. Throughout his ministry he pastored several churches, among which The Moody Church in Chicago is the most well known. He also served as general director of the Back to the Bible radio program and taught at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He was the author of more than 150 books.
